Benjamin Young
Managing Director
Benjamin Young focuses on assisting clients in the transportation, energy, infrastructure, financial services, and health care industries. He has successfully represented clients at all levels of government – federal, state, and city. Ben also manages issue-advocacy and digital media campaigns and advises on political strategy for GPA clients.
Prior to co-founding GPA, Ben was a member of the government affairs team at the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, which was named law firm of the year for Government Relations by U.S. News and World Report during his tenure.
Ben maintains deep experience in the intersection of politics and public policy and has worked on and managed campaigns at the presidential, mayoral, and city council levels. He was a member of the Democratic National Committee’s opposition and rapid response research team during the 2004 Presidential Election, where he was a member of the War Room staff during candidate conventions and presidential debates. He also served as a Chief of Staff at the Council of the District of Columbia, where he played a lead role in a number of high-profile District issues and policy debates.
Ben also served as the Director of Government Affairs to one of the Washington Metropolitan Region’s largest engineering and technology companies. In this role, he was responsible for the government relations strategy of a multi-national company with government contracts at every level.
Ben draws on this experience to help GPA clients develop and execute their public affairs strategies from city hall to the U.S. Congress.
Ben is a graduate of Centre College in Danville, KY, where he majored in Government and received a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
